Typically three to five eggs are laid, but two is typical for the Garnet Pitta, whereas six is more common for the Blue-winged Pitta and the Indian Pitta.

Only four species of pitta are fully or mostly migratory, all in the genus Pitta, the Indian Pitta, African Pitta, Fairy Pitta and Blue-winged Pitta.

Indian Pitta, Asian Brown Flycatcher, Kashmir Flycatcher, Indian Blue Robin, Pied Thrush, Black-throated Munia, and Large-billed Leaf-warbler are amongst the large number of migratory species.

Other interesting species include the Orange-headed Thrush, Indian Pitta, Crested Treeswift, Stone Curlew, Crested Honey Buzzard, Paradise Flycatcher, Bronze-winged Jacana and Lesser Goldenbacked Woodpecker.

Most attractive birds are Golden Hooded Oriole, Racket-tailed drongos, Indian Pitta Rufus-Treepie, Lesser Adjutant, Red-headed vulture, cenareous vulture, Indian white-rumped vulture, Egyption vulture, Nightjars and many other species.

During wintering months one can see Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Asian Brown Flycatcher, Indian Pitta, Orange-headed Ground Thrush, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Asian Openbill Stork and Forest Wagtail in the IIT campus.

During the Wintering months Indian Pitta, Rosy Starling, Orange-headed Ground Thrush, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Asian Brown Flycatcher, Common Kestrel, Booted Eagle, Common Snipe and Blue-tailed Bee-eater can all be seen.
