French Dressing (1964)
Place some watercress in the center and serve with French Dressing.
French Dressing is a 1964 British comedy film directed by Ken Russell, his first feature film, which stars James Booth, Roy Kinnear and Marisa Mell.
A highly charged spy thriller, it was as groovy as hell but, like French Dressing, did not suit Russell's florid style and was a second commercial and artistic disappointment.
Russell had already made his feature film debut with French Dressing (1964) and Billion Dollar Brain (1967), the latter a well-received thriller starring Michael Caine.
He first came to the attention of the Guardian in May 1964, though the newspaper was dismissive of French Dressing, his first feature.
The town has featured in movies such as Ken Russell's French Dressing, and The Medusa Touch, starring Richard Burton.
Ken Russell's debut film, French Dressing, was a light comedy starring Alita Naughton, James Booth and Roy Kinnear.
French Dressing is a 1927 film.
