Darby and Joan Club

'Proper Darby and Joan Club we run here of a Thursday.

A popular Darby and Joan Club was formed by the WI members in the 1970s, also an Entertainment Group.

Village functions are mostly held in the hall and today it accommodates a play group, a Darby and Joan club and other social and recreational activities.

In England, clubs for senior citizens are often called Darby and Joan Clubs, a usage thought to originate from a club in Streatham founded in 1942.

Other groups in the village include Brownies, The Etchingham Military and Aviation Preservation Group, The Women's Institute, and a Darby and Joan Club.
