Within the central area of the park one can still find old trees dating from that period: maidenhair tree, black walnut, Turkish hazel and Caucasian wingnut trees.

In fact, a carpet of tomasinianus has been spreading for years on the westernmost edge of the garden under an 80-year-old Caucasian wingnut (if you haven't paid your respects to this granddaddy, do).

The gardens contain many native and exotic trees and shrubs such as Magnolia, Caucasian Wingnut and Maple, enabling the visitor to view the species of many countries within a few acres of land.

It also contains notable specimens of Cedrus libani, Fagus sylvatica, Ginkgo biloba, Platanus orientalis, Populus deltoides, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pterocarya fraxinifolia, Pterocarya stenoptera, Quercus robur, Taxus baccata, and Zelkova carpinifolia.
