Astronomy Day

Astronomy Day is an annual event intended to provide a means of interaction between the general public and various astronomy enthusiasts, groups and professionals.

Astronomy Day also forms part of Astronomy Week, which begins on the preceding Monday.

Originally, Astronomy Day occurred on a Saturday between mid-April and mid-May, and was scheduled so as to occur at or close to the first quarter Moon.

In the spring the club holds a Star party in association with Astronomy Day and in the fall they hold another party at a location the club has viewing arrangements.

He is also an honorary member of the Swiss Aero Club, the Swiss Society of Engineers and Architects, and the Swiss Astronomy Day Society.

Astronomy days is a 2 day event, usually held in January which includes exhibits from area astronomy clubs, autograph sessions with an astronaut as well as talks and exhibits by NASA educators.

An April 2002 review for UniSci's "Daily University Science News" also praised Bad Astronomy as the "ideal accompaniment for International Astronomy Day (April 20)" and quoted the author, stating that it is "dangerous to be ignorant about science.
