During wintering months one can see Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Asian Brown Flycatcher, Indian Pitta, Orange-headed Ground Thrush, Blyth's Reed Warbler, Asian Openbill Stork and Forest Wagtail in the IIT campus.

It is a recognised pathogen and cause of morbidity in the Asian Openbill (Anastomus oscitans).
