Allen bolt

Use the Nova Allen bolts (but not the sliders) to put them on.

An Allen bolt, precisely torqued, maintains integrity of the headshell in the arm tube.

Many of these Allen bolts attach through a sleeve extending through the chain rings and the spider.

Jun 1998 Do not leave out the awkward Allen bolt I am inclined to agree with Colin on this one and I for one will not knowingly leave out any fasteners which the factory deemed worth fitting originally.

That could be caused by the more violent physical abuse racers put upon it like pulling with maximum force during racing and jumping their bicycles, these stems were four-point block clamps secured with Allen bolts, unlike the single point quill gooseneck that had a single "pinchbolt" configuration to clamp the bars.
