For example, the orange peel fungus (Aleuria aurantia) resembles a discarded orange rind.

The Orange Peel Fungus (Aleuria aurantia) is a widespread ascomycete fungus in the order Pezizales.

These fungal lectins, such as Aleuria aurantia lectin AAL, specifically recognise fucosylated glycans.

Peck noted a physical resemblance to P. aurantia (now known as Aleuria aurantia) and P. inaequalis, and said that it could be distinguished from those species by its yellow hymenium and larger spores.

Caloscypha fulgens bears some resemblance to the orange-peel fungus (Aleuria aurantia); however, A. aurantia does not have the characteristic bluing reaction upon bruising or with age, and it fruits later in the season (usually in autumn).
