The interchange, known as the Mixing Bowl, is the region's busiest and most dangerous, handling 375,000 vehicles a day.

Last spring, when a gunpowder truck overturned and authorities closed the Mixing Bowl during rush hours, motorists gained a clear understanding of the interchange's importance.

This is locally known as the Springfield Interchange and the "Mixing Bowl".

The Mixing Bowl also makes its own desserts.

Since then, from one to four trails have been skiable on the steep North Face and the beginner Mixing Bowl.

However, most news reports on the Springfield Interchange refer to it as the "Mixing Bowl", and the term has become generally accepted.

After passing through the Mixing Bowl, I-696 follows 11 Mile Road, which forms a pair of service drives for the main freeway.

The building is located close to Interstate 696, M-10, and US 24, "Mixing Bowl."

The Mixing Bowl features on-premises baking, gourmet pizzas, cold salads and sandwiches in addition to complete meals.

Unofficially, this interchange is also referred to as The Mixing Bowl.
